Welcome to the unofficial home of the German Marineflieger

In the german history a total of three naval air services saw active duty. This site is dedicated to the Marineflieger of the modern German Bundesmarine.
The Marineflieger were founded after the re-establishment of the Bundeswehr in 1956. This homepage will not only show you the aircraft used during the last 44 years, it will also introduce you to all five naval airwings and the airbases used by the German Navy.
Of course the famous "Vikings" display team will receive its well earned tribute as well.

Ein Wort an die deutschen Besucher:

Bei den Marinefliegern herrschen derzeit akute Nachwuchssorgen.

A large variety of books and webpages provided information and photos for this site. Nevertheless it would have been an impossible task without the excellent books of the "F-40 Flugzeuge der Bundeswehr" series. I can do nothing but recommend them to everybody interested in german military aviation. They can be ordered by internet now as well - just visit the link!

An additional "Thank you" goes to Marinefliegergeschwader 5, who kindly supported me with information material and some wonderful photos.
